Inventory Control Specialist GeoSport Lighting Systems Saint Gabriel, LA 70776 Benefits offered: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401 (k) Life insurance Paid time off GeoSport Lighting in St. Gabriel, La is currently seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team working with our production warehouse. This role primarily focuses on efficiently managing the inventory of lighting components to ensure accuracy and reliability of data and inventory records. The incumbent will be required to ensure adherence to proper receiving and issuing of stock to maintain inventory accuracy and lead cycle counts on a bi-annual basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support a barcoding and part numbering system to streamline inventory tracking processes. Develop and maintain a system of minimum and maximum quantities to ensure optimal inventory levels and trigger timely reordering. Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies. Collaborate with the production team to forecast inventory needs and ensure timely replenishment of stock. Maintain receiving system. Maintain Sales Order system for the picking, staging and shipping out of customer orders. Place orders as needed for special requests and assist with the sourcing of special items for production. Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Prepare weekly inventory reports for the purpose of budgeting and forecasting. Assess overstocking and obsolete items. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with standard hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs. The ideal candidate should demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and a proactive attitude towards creating and implementing effective inventory control systems.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. Inventory control experience of 2 years minimum is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and QuickBooks Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
