JOB SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Specialist provides a number of services aimed at maintaining and improving corporate wide inventory control and management. The IC Specialist performs tasks that cut across multiple branches. He(she) is also a flexible resource that can work on a variety of IC related projects at various sites. The IC Specialist is expected to know or learn product and SOE skills so that he(she) can help at a branch counter. This position might also be a development step toward a full-time counter sales position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cycle Counting and Inventory Audits Performs audit 1-2 times per year for each branch Cycle counts 100-200 items Runs variance reports and publishes performance May serve as primary or secondary resource for DC cycle counts Inventory Preparation & Full Physical Inventories a. Relocates and label all products and shelves with barcode labels b. Cleans up and consolidates product. Organizes items so all have a specific and limited locations c. Assists branch personnel with location layout and barcode label printing d. Assists branch with organizing and consolidating of overstock items e. Preps and tests RF Equipment prior to inventory f. Performs counts with rest of inventory team; checks variances for all recounts. g. Proofs all areas counted prior to final variance report 3. Updates various branch performance trend reports in excel. Returns a. Picks products listed on return paperwork (debit memo or sales order) b. Notifies purchasing of any changes and adjustments c. Packages material and ship using freight terms specified by Vendor d. Processes the debits – receives, edits with all shipping information for proper documentation. e. Coordinates multiple sites in the physical identification, collection and quarantining of defective material or products being phased out. 5. Investigates Disputed Transfer and reports summaries 6. Sales/Counter a. Completes SOE training workbooks if not already proficient on SOE b. Assists branch with counter sales if possible and appropriate c. Participates Product training (ASA & Vendor Website) 7. RF Training, Projects, Branch Backup a. Assists branches with any RF Training needed for Receiving, Picking and Cycle Counting b. Assists in setting up a new warehouse or changing the layout of an existing one Assists DC or Branch as needed

Minimum Required Skills:

High quality and attention to detail Flexibility to travel to and work in variety of locations and work environments Demonstrated ability to work productively with little direct supervision Minimum 6 months experience in warehouse and/or IC work environment using computer-based inventory control system RF experience with above average warehouse productivity Knowledge of plumbing and HVAC products (preferred) Knowledge and experience with using order picker and forklift Proficient at driving a 20-26′ box truck (preferred) Able to drive and has use of personal vehicle Able to lift 75 pounds Reliable Versatile, able to switch roles at a moment’s notice Material handling and data input accuracy Initiative to raise issues and suggest process improvement Good verbal communication skills Work Environment Work is primarily performed in a warehouse and outside yard. Loading and unloading is typically performed at a loading dock as part of the warehouse.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, reach and lift up to 70 lbs. of product onto and off of skids. Ability to climb onto an order picker, as well as move skids with the aid of a pallet jack, use of all warehouse machinery. Position Type and Expected hours of work: Full Time/Regular. Normal hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. Some weekend hours expected as needed to support inventories and warehouse projects.

Travel:

up to 75% travel to branches in eastern
