This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.
As the Supply Specialist III, working under general supervision, you will manage the receiving, distribution, storing and inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment for HPH. Responsible for requisitioning supplies and services, disposal of surplus property, warehouse security and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities for this Supply Specialist III include but are not limited to:
Responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations for the facility. Processes requests for supplies and services from a central warehouse and from outside vendors entering into SCEIS system. Verifies accounting documentation. Issues and delivers requested items to hospital staff according to established procedures. Verifies items delivered against orders placed. Enters delivery information and charge issued items to various departmental accounts using SCEIS.
As a Shopping Cart Creator, deals directly with vendors to purchase authorized non-stock items by Purchase Order. Assures that all purchases are in accordance with the Consolidated Procurement Code, and that necessary paperwork is obtained to substantiate purchases.
As an authorized procurement credit card holder, purchases supply items which are paid for by the credit card. Verifies that items received are correct and complete and that charges are as agreed upon. Monitors spending levels to assure that authorized amount is not exceeded.
Continually monitors equipment and supply levels and is responsible for periodic inventory and the preparation of annual inventory reports. Consults with administrative and department heads to determine adequacy of services and inventory levels. Enters inventory information into SCEIS. Supervises and inspects supply storage areas for cleanliness, space utilization, security, and compliance with fire and safety standards.
Receives incoming supplies and equipment and verifies against purchasing documents. Inspects deliveries to ensure compliance with specifications and accuracy of packing documents. Monitors quality and quantity of items received.
Supervises decaling new property and equipment, maintaining detailed inventory records of current fixed and movable equipment and furniture as needed. Responsible for relocation of all equipment.
Maintains clinical competency by mastering required mandatory and non-mandatory in-services or training, including MAPS/MANDT, CPR, and SCEIS training modules.
Delivers blood products for hospital to local labs as required. Purchases requested supply items locally as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Additional Comments
As the selected candidate you must have good organizational skills, good communication and interpersonal skills and accurate record-keeping ability. Must be familiar with methods of procurement, materials management, and inventory control. Computer and some accounting knowledge are required. Must be physically fit. Possess a valid SC Driver’s License, and be able to drive a forklift/tractor, and a cargo van. Must be able to repetitively lift fifty (50) lbs on a daily basis. Ability to push, pull, bend, and stoop frequently. Must maintain a neat and orderly working environment. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
