Warehouse Assistant Hawk Valve, Inc. 136 Eastport Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218
SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Associate position provides assistance to the Warehouse Manager and other employees on various tasks and processes within the warehouse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- The main responsibility of this position is the cleaning of valves and valve components in preparation for shipment to customers.
- Using various hand tools, cutting saws, and sandblaster to clean and repair valves and components.
- Helps in organizing stock. Pulling products and putting stock back up, as needed.
- Testing of finished product prior to shipping to customer.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Operates forklift and other machinery as needed.
- Assist with multiple tasks as needed in the warehouse.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Warehouse environment.
- Continually required to stand.
Continually required to walk. Occasionally required to sit. Continually required to use hands and fingers. Frequently required to talk or hear. Frequent heavy lifting up to 60 lbs. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to heat and cold environments. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and occasionally loud.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of high school education and 2 years experience in a warehouse environment. OSHA Forklift Certification preferred. Familiar with various hand tools and experience using multiple types of tools. Self—motivated and eager to learn new tasks and processes. A team player that is willing to take on additional tasks to assist co-workers when needed. Ability to disassemble, clean, and reassemble valves and valve components preferred. Previous experience with stocking and pulling inventory preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
