Position Summary:

The Service Assistant / Warehouse Coordinator supports field operations by managing warehouse inventory, coordinating materials and tools for job sites, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of supplies. This role is crucial in helping the mechanical contracting team maintain project schedules and job site efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations Receive, inspect, and stock incoming materials and equipment. Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouses. Track and manage inventory using manual logs or inventory management software. Prepare and stage materials for upcoming jobs. Load and unload trucks and deliveries. Job Site Coordination Coordinate the delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to job sites. Communicate with foremen, project managers, and vendors regarding material needs or delivery timelines. Track and report back-orders, shortages, or delays. Tool & Equipment Management Maintain tool inventory and perform regular inspections and maintenance. Issue and log tools and equipment to crews and ensure their return in good condition. Administrative Tasks Maintain accurate records of material usage, shipments, and warehouse inventory. Assist in processing purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts. Help support procurement staff or field coordinators when needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior warehouse experience preferred, ideally in a construction or mechanical trade environment.

Basic computer skills:

experience with inventory management systems is a plus. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical labor in varying warehouse and outdoor conditions. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Work Environment:

Combination of indoor warehouse setting and occasional visits to construction sites. Must be comfortable working around construction equipment and materials.
