ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads work order orfollows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers tobe moved. Opens containers. Loads and unloads materials onto orfrom pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materialsinto vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding toprevent shifting or damage in transit. Rotate material. Conveysmaterials from storage or work sites to designated area. Secureslifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination orsignals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.

Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved orhandled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags orlabels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or othercontainers. Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator. Stacks orassembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Clampssections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sectionson blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.

Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans workarea, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. Makessimple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacingrollers. Assembles crates to contain products such as machines orvehicles. Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist inloading or moving materials and products. Responsible for properhazardous waste container management and emergency response asrequired upon completion of required hazardous waste training.

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);or one to three months related experience and/or training; orequivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE

SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and dividein all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, anddecimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common senseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,or diagram form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forkliftlicense and crane license.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic personal computerskills preferred using

AS400. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travelrequested (less than 10%).

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Attendance isan essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent,reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the abilityto work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shiftsand on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including allrelated departments/plants or independently as required to achieveinternal and external customer satisfaction.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reachwith hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walkand stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionallyrequired to sit, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employeemust regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently liftand/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move upto 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depthperception, and ability to adjust focus.
