Cooperstown, NY 13326 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by managing materials and ensuring that the yard is organized and safe. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Operate various materials handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and flatbed trucks. Perform order picking tasks accurately and efficiently to fulfill customer requirements. Utilize organizational systems to track inventory and manage stock levels. Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area to promote safety and efficiency. Collaborate with yard supervisor to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Requirements Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred. Familiarity with order picking processes and materials handling equipment is highly desirable. Ability to operate a pallet jack, forklift, flatbed, or similar machinery safely. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in order fulfillment. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
