Warehouse Material Handler Abacus Service Corporation North Kingstown, RI 02852 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading goods, operating various types of equipment, and ensuring that all materials are handled safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations. This position is crucial for maintaining smooth operations within our warehouse environment. Responsibilities Operate forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks to move materials safely within the warehouse. Load and unload products from trucks and containers, ensuring accurate handling to prevent damage. Perform order picking tasks using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory accurately. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an organized and efficient workspace. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues. Assist in building pallets for shipment and ensure that all materials are stored correctly. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines set forth by OSHA to maintain a safe working environment. Experience Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Experience operating forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks is highly desirable. Basic mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
