As a Pallet Repair Reman, you’ll get to build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets and/or lumber. You may also repair pallets by taking damaged pallets sent from our customers and return them to service-ready condition, before consolidating and shipping them back to the customer. As sustainability is one of our organization’s top goals, this role is vital to our success!
What You’ll Do
Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty’s standards Build the given number of pallets, once training is complete
Repair the given number of pallets, once training is complete Expected to be able to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely Stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions Check loads to make sure they are secure What You Need
High school degree or GED required
Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred
Requires quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality
Observance of all safety rules and regulations
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred
