Job Title:
Utility Helper Starting Pay:

$20-23 (depending on welding experience) per hour Reports to: Site supervisor

Position Summary:

The Utility Helper position is an entry level position at our sites and is vital to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The Utility Helper role is ideal for individuals eager to learn about operations in a quarry/sand plant environment and develop skills to grow within the company. The Utility Helper role focuses on industrial clean-up tasks and requires teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining a well-functioning workspace and being safety forward.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older Must be legally permitted to work in the United States Must have a track-record of being a dependable employee

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the production team to maintain a safe and clean workspace.
  • Perform industrial clean-up tasks, including debris removal and equipment cleaning.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure compliance with standards and contribute to a safety-first culture.
  • Operate small equipment such as skid steers, manlifts, forklifts, and backhoes (training provided).
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks when necessary.
  • Support set-up and upkeep of plant equipment to optimize production capabilities.
  • Welding experience or mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required.

Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions
  • Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Job may require crouching, stooping, or crawling.
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to swing 16-pound hammer
  • Able to use impact wrench
  • Able to pull chain/cable hoist
  • Able to climb steps/ladders
