Equipment Operator/Laborer Position Available In Surry, North Carolina

Equipment Operator/Laborer Bill Tucker Utility Contractors of Mount Airy 700 Crotts Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030 Looking for qualified individuals with experience in the underground utility field. Looking for individuals to fill a range of positions operating various equipment.

We will provide training for individuals in our specific practices. Candidates should have the following minimum experience: Able to follow orders Able to communicate clearly, either with the crew or direct supervisor Capable of lifting 50 pounds. Proficiency with handtools (shovels, rakes etc) Good physical health (require disclosure of any existing physical issues) Able to work 40+ hours per week. Able to work anytime crew is on duty (flexible) Able to learn quickly Experience with equipment, such as backhoes, plows, trenchers, trenchless equipment, directional drills, etc.

Basic Mechanical Skills Responsibilities:

Beginning of job duties, such as temporary sign placement, fueling equipment, material handling. Basic shovel work to spot existing utilities and protect them Operating various machinery on a FTTH placing crew or a Directional Drilling Crew Basic Machine maintenance such as, but not limited to, greasing, checking and filling fluids, assisting with breakdown repairs, and damage prevention Clean up and end of job duties such as raking, seed and straw, and sign removal. Any other duties assigned by the crew foreman Work areas exist across NC, SC, VA and WV.
