Driver Helper NationWide Motion logistics Schenectady, NY 12306 Job Overview The Drivers Helper plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery process by assisting drivers in the transportation of goods and materials. This position requires a proactive individual who can work effectively in a team environment, ensuring that deliveries are made efficiently and safely. The Drivers Helper will be responsible for loading and unloading freight, maintaining communication with the driver, and adhering to safety protocols throughout the delivery process. Duties Assist the driver in loading and unloading freight from vehicles, ensuring proper handling of goods. Communicate effectively with the driver to coordinate delivery schedules and routes. Help secure loads to prevent damage during transit. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and work area. Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as needed for loading and unloading tasks. Follow all safety regulations and company policies while on duty. Provide support during deliveries, including navigating to locations and managing paperwork. Skills Experience operating dump trucks, tankers, or tractor-trailers is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse operations and freight handling techniques. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with drivers and other team members. Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently. Forklift certification is a plus; willingness to learn is essential. Experience with school bus driving or bus driving is advantageous but not required. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.
