This is a hands-on, general labor position that plays a key support role across various areas of the facility. From basic cleaning to light assembly and various secondary machine shop duties, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning new tasks, and being part of a team. This job wears many hats — we’re looking for someone flexible, trainable, and ready to jump in wherever help is needed.

Daylight shift Hours – 7am to 3:30pm

Friday Pay Rate:
$22.00hr
Key Responsibilities:
General cleaning of warehouse and shop areas: sweeping, wiping down equipment, emptying trash and recycling Deburring of parts coming out of CNC machines, this is basic grinding work to take burs off and clean up edges of metal products Washing of parts – Mainly just loading a conveyor belt as the machine is automated that cleans them. Use of ultrasonic clean and shot blasting machine Load and unload tempering oven Emptying metal shavings from various machining cells Operate a forklift to move materials and product throughout the facility Operate a jib overhead crane (training provided) as needed Move product using push carts throughout the warehouse Perform light mechanical assembly: Install bolts into metal rings ranging in size (1″ to 3′ diameter) Use air or electric tools to secure bolts into fixtures Follow basic assembly drawings to identify correct parts Support other departments as needed with miscellaneous warehouse or production tasks
Requirements:
Prior experience in manufacturing or general labor position preferred Machine shop exposure would be a huge plus but not required Forklift experience required; overhead crane experience is a plus (training available) Basic blueprint or assembly drawing reading skills Ability to lift, carry, bend, and move up to 50 lbs regularly Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power tools Willingness to learn and help out in various areas as needed Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential TOPS Staffing is hiring a reliable Machine Shop Utility Laborer for a growing manufacturer in the Cheswick area.
