Job Description
Athens Township Highway Department Temporary Position Athens Township 45 Herrick Avenue, Sayre, PA 18840 Athens Township Highway Department Temporary Position Athens Township Highway Department is now accepting applications for a temporary Highway Laborer. Positions are up to 40-hours per week and can lead to full time employment if vacancies become available. Requires ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedule may include off-hours work.
Typical Duties:
Raking topsoil, brush and debris Brush clean-up and litter pick-up Patching and luting asphalt Raking, shoveling, picking-up leaves from roads sides using hand tools and mechanized equipment Operating a variety of Equipment Running chainsaw and other small engine equipment Other Highway Maintenance duties as may be assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Commitment, common sense, a team attitude, and a focus on safety Willingness to listen, learn and work hard Must have a clean driver’s license CDL A or B (optional)
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Special Requirements:
Applicants will be subject to a pre-employment background check, driver license check and drug testing Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, maintain physical activity for extended periods of time in a variety of environments, indoors and outside, including during inclement weather.

Temporary Pay is based on experience.
