Job Description
Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the highway departmentnecessary to the repair and maintenance of streets, walkways, abutments and medians.
Laying and maintaining drainage lines.
Collecting and disposing of refuse and debris.
Assists in constructing, repairing and maintaining all highway operations.
Responsible for heavy yard and leave pick-up.
May be assigned to perform other Senior Laborer duties in other divisions of the Public Works Department.
Performs related work as required.
Education and Experience:
Such as may have been gained through completion of eight school grades, supplemented with at least six months of previous work experience as a laborer or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL NOTE
Must possess a valid state issued Drivers License at time of application. All applicants will be subject to a drivers license check for last two years and a background criminal check will be performed. Negative findings may prevent applicants from being considered.
