JOB SUMMARY
This position is in Supply Chain Management under the Supplier Management and Strategic Services group. This position may be filled as Exempt Level 2 – 3 depending on the successful candidate’s background, experience, and expertise. This position is responsible for supporting the daily operations and the business solutions necessary for the successful management of the supplier master database SMART by GEP as well as support Southern Company’s source to pay process in adherence with departmental guidelines and audit controls.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience 2 to 3 years’ work experience in supply chain, accounts payable, and/or supporting supplier management activities is highly preferred. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Source to Pay (S2P) business processes preferred Ability to review information and make sound risk mitigating judgements Troubleshoot and propose solutions to supplier related issues pertaining to vendor profiles/S2P Ability to interface and engage at all levels including senior/executive leadership Ability to build relationships both inside and outside of the company Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Customer service oriented Excellent organizational skills Strong time management abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written Experienced with Microsoft Office 365 programs to include Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to manage and properly prioritize multiple priorities Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information Attention to details is essential
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for maintaining supplier database within SMART by GEP, Oracle, ES Maximo, SPC Maximo through the lifecycle stages Support SIPS and Source to Pay business processes, data and workflow Support production benchmarking as defined by leadership Perform duties in adherence with Supply Chain Governance Quarterly Monitoring Process (QMP) and SOX Financial guidelines Support internal and cross functional projects and initiatives Develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers About Southern Company Southern Company (
