Summary:
This position is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels.
Essential Duties:
Receives/analyzes sales order requirements and generates supporting production schedules
Responsible for on-time delivery (OTD) to ensure accurate shipment dates
Provides daily order fulfillment requirements to shipping
Routinely confers with departmental production supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and initiate changes as needed
Reviews sales orders for accuracy and completeness
Provides priority list to production as needed
Coordinates engineering changes into production when appropriate
Processes all work orders which support the schedules and purchasing requirements
Communicates supply issues to sales team as needed
Provides delivery lead time estimates to customer service for new quotes as needed
Meets with the Operations team as needed to discuss schedule
Determines capacity planning/staffing requirements needed to achieve the production requirements and the schedules
Reviews processes for continuous improvement opportunities
Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
Adheres to all quality and safety standards
Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:
Associates degree in business or related discipline preferred or equivalent education/relevant experience required. Minimum of 5-10 years of scheduling and/or planning experience preferred
Inventory analysis experience desired;
Possesses strong analytical problem solving skills
Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
Experience with ERP systems required, SAP operating system preferred
Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Must be able to read, speak and understand
