MSRC is seeking a dependable and hands-on Mechanical Technician to support logistics, mechanical assembly, and test operations across multiple defense-related projects. This role is critical to ensuring smooth part flow between vendors, efficient hardware assembly, and execution of test activities in support of engineering efforts.

Job Description:

Transport parts and materials to and from machine shops, vendors, and other facilities Perform mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies Assist in test setup, execution, and data collection for hardware testing Support engineering and manufacturing teams with hardware build-up and integration Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, inventory, and test activities Ensure proper handling, labeling, and delivery of materials per project schedule Travel locally and regionally as required to support vendors, test sites, or customer facilities Safely lift and handle equipment or parts up to 50 lbs Responsible for providing training and instruction for new personnel concerning internal staff action standard operating procedures and terminology, as well as preparation, content and assembly of staff actions.

Education:

At minimum HS diploma Some college or Associates degree in relevant field is preferred.

Experience:

Prefer prior experience in mechanical assembly, test support, or logistics Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments

Job Qualifications:

Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to obtain government-issued licenses for forklift operation and vehicle use Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word Organized, proactive, and effective communicator both written and verbal Mechanically inclined with experience using basic tools and hardware Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Position contingent upon funding. The position is onsite at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Relocation assistance is not available.
