Job Description
We are seeking a Logistics Sr Specialist for a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is pivotal in ensuring the right part is delivered to the right place at the right time at an optimal cost. You will contribute to maintaining strong delivery characteristics with a regional viewpoint to support smooth production operations across North American manufacturing facilities, ensuring customer satisfaction. Under limited supervision, you will manage carrier delivery performance and participate in broad scope projects, handling complex transportation situations. Responsibilities Collaborate with Suppliers, Carriers, SCM Operations, and SCM Packaging to ensure a smooth supply chain flow. Minimize redundancy and out-of-route miles. Proactively review routes to ensure smooth flow inbound and outbound. Identify methods to improve routing efficiency and remove waste from the supply chain. Improve efficiency of HSP transportation network. Perform ESC analysis to understand issues and establish countermeasures. Ensure delivery performance targets are met and report delivery progress timely. Achieve cost reduction targets and perform root cause analysis with countermeasure implementation. Strive for continuous improvement through Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for the area of responsibility. Work cross-functionally to expand knowledge of all areas within the supply chain. Support the company vision through Business Plan KPI and other Business Unit initiatives. Lead situation appraisal and analysis of carrier performance, conducting meetings with carriers to develop and implement improvement plans. Support the carriers in the development and implementation of real-time EDI/GPS reporting. Meet Business Plan cost and delivery targets as per the schedule. Perform route bid evaluation and make sourcing recommendations. Essential Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent related experience. 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
