Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing the movement of materials, components, and equipment within our organization. This role will work closely with a Quality Inspector to ensure the quality and accuracy of received goods. In the future, the Shipping and Receiving Specialist will also be expected to use the SAP ERP system for receiving and shipping materials from machining and fabrication to special processing partners. Collaboration with an Inventory Logistics Specialist will be essential to ensure materials are received, inspected, and stored efficiently in our inventory. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Position Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Receive incoming materials, parts, and equipment, and verify accuracy against purchase orders. Collaborate with the Quality Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure the quality of received goods. Document and report any discrepancies or damages and assist in resolving related issues. Prepare and package materials for shipment, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company standards. Coordinate with special processing partners for the timely and accurate shipment of materials for machining and fabrication. Generate shipping labels, documentation, and maintain accurate shipping records. Assist the Inventory Logistics Specialist in maintaining accurate inventory records. Organize and store received materials in a way that optimizes inventory turnover and space utilization. Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory cycle counts as needed. Enter and track relevant information in the ERP system, ensuring data accuracy. Adhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and procedures. Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained. Other duties as assigned•Basic Qualifications (Required Education/Experience) Three (3) years’ experience shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace environment, or other relevant industry experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in lieu of education may be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Commitment to providing the highest quality products and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customer, actively pursuing opportunities for continual improvements of service quality. Education or certification in logistics or supply chain management. Experience with SAP ERP systems and tracking. Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation maintaining positive and professional relationships, and contributing to a culture of inclusion Physical Requirements Active Work – often exerting up to 40 pounds of force to transport objects, remaining mostly stationary despite moving about the work center on concrete surfaces. Computer Work – daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers.
