At Applied Cooling Technolgy (ACT) a part of Vestas aircoil group, we’re seeking a proactive and technically minded Material Planner & Purchaser to join our team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on setting where they can impact both daily operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
Your Role:
From Coordination to Strategy This is a unique opportunity to step into a position that bridges operational planning and tactical purchasing. You’ll be the key link between our suppliers and production teams, ensuring materials are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the right specifications — while also helping shape our supplier landscape and category strategies. Your responsibilities Daily Material Coordination Ensure OTD of purchase orders to support production schedules. Maintain quality standards by clearly communicating specifications to suppliers. Monitor stock levels and update inventory using Excel-based tools to ensure material availability. Actively coordinate with the warehouse and production supervisors to replenish indirect materials through Kanban triggers. Troubleshoot material issues to keep production flowing without delays. Strategic & Tactical Procurement Ownership Own and develop selected material categories using a data-driven approach to reduce complexity and boost efficiency. Identify savings opportunities by challenging the status quo – both internally and with suppliers. Support sourcing activities, including identifying and evaluating potential new suppliers. Contribute to supplier negotiations on contracts, pricing, and terms (with management support where needed). What We’re Looking For A technically inclined planner or purchaser, with a background in manufacturing or engineering. Strong analytical capabilities – you know how to convert raw data into actionable insights through data review and categorization. Familiarity with blueprints, technical specifications, and industrial standards are a plus. A self-starter who can balance the immediate need for operational execution with the long-term perspective of procurement strategy. Experience with Excel-based inventory systems and a keen eye for continuous improvement. A desire to grow alongside our site and to lead the development of supplier relationships, helping the site mature and strengthen the value chain.
