The Customer Logistics VMI Planner is responsible for inventory replenishment (VMI) into Distributor warehouses and minimizing Distributor out-of-stocks enabled by exceptional collaboration, proactive order management and strong Distributor engagement. Decisions are made daily based upon Distributor requirements in conjunction with optimizing service, cost, cash, and quality. Exceptional communication skills are required as this position deals directly with the Distributors and Commercial Sales along with various Supply Chain functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES – WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute distributor replenishment strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and demand planning goals.
Identify and implement opportunities for improving distributor performance, enhancing service offerings, and optimizing supply chain processes.

Operations Management:

Oversee and manage distributor replenishment planning (DRP/VMI), ensuring recommended orders are generated and accurately feed into the forecast for supply planning.
Monitor and manage finished goods inventory at distributor warehouses, collaborating with logistics to expedite deliveries as needed.
Balance the demands of sales and supply chain goals to maintain excellent service levels and meet business objectives.
Drive continuous improvements in business processes by leveraging critical thinking, sharing best practices, and ensuring appropriate alignment with cross-functional teams.

Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong business relationships with key stakeholders, including State, Commercial, and Finance teams.
Serve as the single point of contact for distributors, ensuring their satisfaction through consistent interaction and communication.
Act as the first point of escalation for Commercial/Sales teams, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

Customer Relationship Management:

Provide distributors with timely and accurate information regarding order status, logistics issues, and service updates.
Lead regular collaborative meetings with internal and external partners to ensure optimal service and operational alignment.
Proactively identify and resolve distributor issues/complaints, ensuring timely processing and resolution.

Financial Responsibility:

Ensure the distributor maintains appropriate inventory levels through accurate VMI plans, with a focus on minimizing NSV and cash impact.
Drive accurate forecasting and inventory management to influence finished goods inventory levels and maintain financial discipline.
Ensure innovation orders meet expected timelines, maximizing NSV impact and minimizing delays.
Identify and manage DPL opportunities, ensuring alignment with cash flow objectives.
Proactively manage service issues to minimize escalations, protecting cash flow and business continuity.

Performance Management & Process Improvement:

Recommend improvements in order management processes (e.g., route-to-market, order lead time, order quantity) to enhance distributor performance.
Conduct quarterly reviews of planning parameters to ensure alignment with distributor requirements and business goals.
Lead efforts to simplify and streamline order management processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Change Management:

Champion process improvements and the adoption of best practices in distributor management, ensuring seamless integration with supply chain goals.
Lead change initiatives, driving alignment across teams and ensuring effective execution of new processes and improvements.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure that distributor issues, quality concerns, and product transfers are handled in compliance with internal processes and timelines.
Safeguard the business against operational risks by maintaining robust relationships and communication channels with distributors.

SKILLS – THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY

Deep understanding of Supply Chain, SMR, and VMI planning, with a preference for experience in the beverage alcohol industry (or a similar fast-paced sector).
