In the role of Transportation Planner | Data Analyst, we’ll count on you to: Provide full time, in-house staff support to FDOT Systems Implementation Office Work on Sun Trail program Work on SIS planning projects/documents – Policy Plan, Needs Plan, Cost Feasible Plan, 2nd Five, 1st Five Define regional or local transportation planning problems or priorities. Collect, assimilate, analyze, and manage project-related data developed through research, interviews, surveys, and other methods. Conduct technical analysis involving data analytics, GIS, etc. and produce maps and tables Develop GIS and graphic maps conveying complex data through a visual lens. Conduct constraints mapping and maps/documents required by the project. Create, maintain, distribute Department’s databases, metadata, and other documentation Create ESRI Story Maps, AGOL applications, dashboards, and other interactive tools Develop spatial analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python or other GIS scripting languages Assist with Work Program activities Assist with training activities Assist with quality control activities Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Esri Certification GISP, AICP, PE or other professional certification a plus 5 years of related experience preferred Advance editing and programming using Python, VB, SQL, R or other scripting languages ArcGIS Server experience is a plus Familiarity with FDOT Systems Implementation Office functions is a plus Local candidates preferred #LI-HO1 Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or closely related field A minimum of 3 years of practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in relevant field may offset the required years of experience Proficient in use of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS extensions e.g., 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Apps Working knowledge of interoperability tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
