ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Director of Vendor Management plays a strategic leadership role in overseeing third-party vendor relationships across the organization. This position ensures vendors are aligned with the organization’s financial goals, operational needs, and growth strategy, particularly in a healthcare setting where value, performance, and service delivery are essential. With a strong financial background, the Director drives cost-efficiency, contract value optimization, and organizational accountability across all vendor engagements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the end-to-end vendor management lifecycle , including evaluation , selection , negotiation , onboarding , and performance oversight . Review , draft , and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation . Monitor vendor compliance with contracts , KPIs , and SLAs ; identify and resolve deviations or performance issues . Analyze vendor spending , trends , and performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies . Partner with Finance to ensure alignment between vendor invoicing , budgeting , and forecasting . Develop and maintain a centralized vendor management system , including contracts , renewal timelines , performance scorecards , and risk assessments . Coordinate and support cross-functional project teams in vendor-related activities, ensuring timely execution and financial alignment . Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor-related matters across all business units . Provide strategic leadership in vendor governance , contract lifecycle management , and procurement best practices . Drive vendor consolidation , value optimization , and continuous improvement in service delivery . Collaborate with internal teams—including Clinical , IT , and Operations —to align vendor services with organizational needs . Report regularly to executive leadership on vendor performance , cost trends , and strategic sourcing opportunities .

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA or related certification preferred). 5+ years of experience in project management, vendor management, contract negotiation, or procurement. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and contract valuation. Proven negotiation and vendor relationship management skills. Ability to analyze complex financial terms and translate them into operational decisions. Experience with ERP systems, vendor management platforms, and financial modeling tools. Collaborative leadership style and ability to influence across functional areas. Familiarity with healthcare operations, service lines, or payer/provider dynamics preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and vendors concurrently. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) PMP or related project management certification is a plus. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable navigating complex organizational structures and building consensus.
