Position Summary:
The Fleet Support Specialist will assist with the organization, movement, and documentation of trucks between company yards, offices, and service facilities. This role requires strong computer skills, familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and the ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely move semi-trucks between company yards, maintenance facilities, and offices as needed. Support fleet operations including truck assignments, inspections, and readiness checks. Maintain up-to-date truck and trailer records in the Transportation Management System (TMS). Assist in monitoring and updating fleet maintenance schedules and service records. Communicate with dispatch, safety, and maintenance departments to ensure smooth fleet coordination. Perform basic truck inspections (pre-trip and post-trip) when moving equipment. Manage fleet documentation, including registration, insurance, and DOT compliance records. Utilize company software and spreadsheets to track truck availability, status, and location. Assist with yard inventory, parking coordination, and organization of equipment. Multi-task between truck movement, administrative updates, and fleet support tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a semi-trucking or transportation company preferred. Valid CDL is required. Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience using a TMS platform. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities. Basic knowledge of semi-truck operations and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Reliable, organized, and safety-conscious.
Working Conditions:
Mix of indoor office work and outdoor yard/lot activities. Must be able to work in various weather conditions when moving equipment. Some lifting or minor physical activity may be required.
