Logistics Coordinator Job Description Join a dynamic and growing team as a Logistics Coordinator, where you will play a critical role in managing daily freight movements within North America. This position offers an exciting opportunity to impact transportation operations and drive process improvements. You will have the chance to collaborate with external partners and leverage your analytical skills to enhance efficiency and performance. Responsibilities Engage in continual, tactical communication and account management with external customers such as carriers and vendors. Extract data from various databases using Excel, Access, SQL, and other data management systems to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis. Review data and reports related to appointment and arrival times and make business decisions based on the findings. Create narratives outlining weekly findings and variances to goals, and present them in review forums. Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs, measuring and identifying activities performed. Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects to drive efficiency. Systematically escalate problems or variances to relevant teams and ensure resolution delivery. Develop performance metrics to assist in driving business results. Scope out business and functional requirements for tech teams to create and enhance software systems and tools. Understand the business impact of trends quickly and make informed decisions based on available data. Essential Skills Strong data analysis capabilities Proficiency in vendor management Experience in logistics and transportation Advanced skills in Excel Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred experience in logistics or transportation Intermediate MS Office skills, particularly in Excel Bachelor’s degree is a plus Experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, or distribution environments Experience in data management and data quality control Ability to use data for root cause elimination and process improvement Self-starter with a passion for data and trend spotting Work Environment This role is based in Santa Monica and requires full-time, in-office attendance five days a week. You will participate in morning team meetings and daily interactions, track overnight loads, and handle escalations. Communication with customers and scheduling shipments in TMS systems are key activities. The team-oriented environment includes team outings, SWAG offerings, and a focus on relationship building.
