Department Purpose:
The purpose of production aims to create goods or services, both tangible and intangible, through means of materials or resources. In comparison, the purpose of manufacturing aims to produce tangible goods or merchandise through raw materials, labor and other equipment or technology. Logistics at TACG has a variety of activities from packing, moving, inspecting, and assembling some parts for our Customers. Overtime Position Purpose:
To acquire the skills necessary to reliably perform assigned duties as an Associate, and to perform the assigned duties in order to efficiently manufacture stable quality products and supply them to the customer.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Associate must have the skills necessary to understand and perform the following responsibilities. 1.
Safety / Health
/ Environment Understand and correctly apply safety, health, and environmental rules in area(s) of responsibility. Understand and correctly wear PPE required for each job task in area(s) of responsibility. Understand designated daily inspection procedures in area(s) of responsibility, and accurately and consistently perform procedures without errors or omissions, within target timeframes. Understand the functions of safety devices in area(s) of responsibility and perform job tasks correctly, according to rules. Recognize when there are problems with safety devices in area(s) of responsibility, and stop the affected equipment, call ATL (TL or above when ATL is not present), and wait until A/TL arrives. Provide accurate situational information to ATL (TL or above when ATL is not present) when there are safety/health/environment related problems in area(s) of responsibility. Understand 5S rules necessary for maintaining the order, neatness, and cleanliness of safety, health, and environment related aspects of area(s) of responsibility, and perform operations properly. 2. Quality Understand all of the quality check control items and control standards listed in the Quality Check Operation Manuals in area(s) of responsibility. Use gauges correctly in area(s) of responsibility. Understand quality check job instructions, and continuously and consistently perform checks properly within target timeframes, without errors or omissions. Read the quality trend(s) in area(s) of responsibility, and offset dimensions back to the middle before faults/defects occur. Recognize when there are quality problems in area(s) of responsibility, and stop the affected equipment, call ATL (TL or above when ATL is not present), and wait until A/TL arrives. Provide accurate situational information to ATL (TL or above when ATL is not present) when there are quality related problems in area(s) of responsibility. Understand storage procedures for gauges and masters, and be able to store them properly. Recognize when there are problems with gauges and masters, and request ATL (TL or above when ATL is not present) to remedy. Understand designated daily inspection procedures for area(s) of responsibility, and consistently perform the procedures correctly, at the specified times, within target timeframes, without procedural errors or omissions. Understand measurement and recording rules for first piece/last piece parts in the event of a change point in area(s) of responsibility, and understand storage rules for measured parts. Correctly perform required tasks consistently, without errors or omissions, within target timeframes.
Change Points:
machine breakdown, tool change, dimensional adjustment, replacement of jigs, etc., coolant replacement, changeover, start-up, shutdown, increase in kick-outs, quality check out of tolerance, setting change, after TPMs, etc. Understand rules for measuring and recording quality check parts, and storage rules for measured parts. Consistently and correctly perform procedures without errors or omissions, at the designated times and within target timeframes. Final inspectors must possess company certification, understand job instructions for standardized work, and be able to continuously perform tasks correctly and consistently within target timeframes. Must be able to consistently make accurate OK/NG product judgments. Understand 5S rules necessary for maintaining the order, neatness, and cleanliness of quality related aspects of area(s) of responsibility, and perform operations properly. 3. TPM Understand the content of all items listed on TPM check sheets in area(s) of responsibility, and properly execute TPMs without procedural errors or omissions, according to the established schedule, and within target timeframes. The cleaning and inspection of areas that can lead directly to machine breakdowns, and/or quality, safety, health, and environment related problems. (Includes machines and accessory equipment) The cleaning and inspection of areas that can lead directly to measurement equipment breakdowns, quality problems, and/or safety, health, and environment related problems. Cleaning and inspection of jigs and tools. Concentration checks of coolant/washer fluid on a regular basis, or in the event of a change point (after replacement/after concentration adjustment); and periodic fluid replacements. Waste fluid disposal, sludge disposal, and cleaning/inspection of affected area(s). Floor cleaning and inspection (chips, coolant, washer fluid, coating fluids, sand, shot, lubricant, hydraulic oil, trash, etc.). Cleaning and inspection required to maintain and/or restore the organization, neatness, and cleanliness of accessory equipment (quality check stations, spare parts shelves, paper towel racks, cart storage locations, etc.).
TPM Check Items:
Be able to stop affected equipment, call ATL (TL or above if ATL is not present), and wait for A/TL to arrive in the event that TPM check results are NG. Provide accurate situational information to ATL (TL or above when ATL is not present) when there are quality related problems in area(s) of responsibility. 4. Production/OA Understand PA Sheet usage rules, accurately enter hourly production quantities and accumulated quantities, and accurately record necessary information when problems occur.
Necessary Information:
Who? What? When? Where? Why? How? Associates directly involved in manual line operations must understand job instructions for standardized work in area(s) of responsibility, and consistently perform procedures correctly, without errors or omissions, within target timeframes. Understand tool change job instructions and properly execute tool change procedures consistently without errors or omissions, within target timeframes, when equipment provides notification that a tool change is required. Understand changeover procedures and consistently perform changeovers without procedural errors or omissions, according to the specified schedule, and within target timeframes. Recognize when there are equipment problems in area(s) of responsibility and stop affected equipment, call ATL (TL or above if ATL is not present), and wait for A/TL to arrive. Be able to consistently meet good part production quantity requirements, when there are no production stoppages/obstacles occurring. 5.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, & Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years working experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read, understand and use technical drawings and measuring devices. Ability to understand and apply Toyota Production System, Lean Manufacturing/JIT concepts. Proficient in written and spoken English. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, team oriented environment.
Physical Requirements:
The associate frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The associate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move at least 50 pounds safely.
