Demand Planner
McIlhenny Company
What this job is all about:
The demand planner is responsible for building a consensus demand plan, combining statistical forecast, sales intelligence and other relevant inputs.
The person in this role will build knowledge of our products, maintain relationships with sales and marketing counterparts and apply critical and analytical thinking to develop rolling forecast utilized for maintaining inventory levels and financial planning.
In this job, you’ll do things like:
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using statistical modeling techniques and data analysis. Act as the primary liaison between sales managers, business unit leaders, key customers/distributors, supply chain, etc. to ensure alignment of demand and inventory levels. Ensure forecasting database is maintained monthly to provide the most up to date forecast for the 12-month rolling planning process. Facilitate the communication flow of changes to the forecast and communicate information to all necessary cross-functional partners. Collaborate with production, supply chain and logistics to ensure inventory levels meet requested fulfillment dates across multiple locations.
Fully participate in the annual sales planning process including but not limited to ensuring all sales managers receive and submit sales data and related reports in accordance with the planning calendar, enter data into the planning system (TM1) and partner with sales to determine annual plan spread, etc.
Other great stuff about this job:
Participate in the monthly S&OP forecast process by working with partners in sales, supply chain and finance to obtain forecast inputs. Monitor and report monthly on forecast accuracy, bias, and other key-performance indicators.
Implement and maintain item planning parameters including but not limited to replenishment signals that effectively drive make or buy decisions.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy and inventory management.

Qualifications:

Must-haves to apply for this job:
5+ years of experience in forecasting and inventory replenishment.
Strong written, verbal and in-person communication skills are required as this position interfaces with several key stakeholders continuously.
Experienced in extracting and analyzing data to present in reports/dashboards format to multiple levels of the organization.
Experienced with software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Office.
Undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering technology or equivalent. What will give you an edge:
8+ years of experience in a demand planning role using forecasting software.
3+ years of working in a production and/or distribution environment.
Experience or certification in LEAN, APICs, or other related accreditations.
