JOB SUMMARY
- _The material planner is an essential part of the manufacturing team and ensures the flow of materials necessary for all manufacturing operations.
_ _We are looking for a Material Planner to manage inventories and ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules. The Material Planner’s responsibilities include determining material ERP specifications, coordinating with internal departments, and managing external stakeholder relations._ _A successful Material Planner should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery_

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- 1.
Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations. 2. To ensure the steady flow of materials necessary for operating a manufacturing line. Because manufacturers have limited storage space for raw materials, planners make sure there’s adequate supply without over-ordering or wasting resources. 3. To monitor materials flow to identify bottlenecks and forecast problems. 4. Material planners observe trends and customer requests to create and maintain inventory schedules. Keeping track of production volume and purchasing expectations helps material planners make sure the right number of products and manufacturing materials is always available. 5. Material planners plan and verify incoming and outgoing shipments and fully understand the process of preparing and receiving shipments 6. Research inventory discrepancies and ability to reconcile them 7. Resolve inventory problems in a timely manner 8. Follow must report any violations of any of the following: 1. Safety guidelines 2. Quality guidelines 3. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 9. Active involvement in WCM, leading Quick Kaizen and Standard Kaizens implementations 10. Performs other related duties as assigned 11. Responsible for leading count team during annual Physical Inventory

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- + High school diploma/GED required.
+ 3+ years of experience in purchasing, material planning, inventory management, or a related position. + Strong organizational and time management skills. + Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management. + Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel + Ability to prioritize, schedule, and set and meet manufacturing goals + Material planners work within a team and are often the only point of contact between the manufacturing department and suppliers + Experience in a continuous improvement environment

- + Manufacturing experience, knowledge of Lean tools a plus but not essential + Written and verbal communication skills + SAP ERP system experience / APICS + Analytical and problem-solving skills
