Job Summary The Transport and Logistics Specialist will ensure the Company’s strict compliance with all rules and regulations relating to vehicle permitting and registration. The administrator acts as the Company’s subject matter expert for all related matters and acts as a core resource in addressing/resolving any issues that might arise. The role is also responsible for delivering sustained improvement and continually identifying and delivering efficiencies that improve compliance, reduce operational risk and improve profitability. An effective administrator should have a full understanding of our core business and be able to backfill other positions within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all items related to vehicle permitting Manage reducible and not reducible overweight permits Ensure all equipment is appropriately marked and contains the appropriate compliance paperwork Oversee fuel card system and usage Manage selection, availability and overall performance of GPS/Telematics system Manage e-ticketing technology platform for Construction crews Manage transponders (EZ Pass) to ensure all vehicles are properly equipped Address any additional issues related to vehicle compliance Learn and backfill other logistics roles as necessary Manage additive/specialty transportation across the circuit Identify capable carriers and build 3rd party distribution network for Specialty products Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction, vehicle permitting, and state-specific transportation equipment compliance. Strong working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with overall strong computer literacy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Work Conditions Office setting with controlled temperature and minimal noise. Incumbent must be able to sit for extended periods of time and tolerate working at a computer for most of their work duties.
