Position Summary The Pre-Production Planner will be involved in ensuring jobs have all required programs, prints, and materials for completion. To prepare for production, the Pre-Production Planner must allocate materials, monitor supply flow, compile pre-production packets, and produce a production schedule. What You’ll Do Foster a culture of safety awareness & prioritization. Ensure that quality standards are met; champion quality ownership of work center. Enforce all company rules and policies; communicate issues or concerns with leadership. Forecast and schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels. Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand. Identify and Allocate materials for processing. Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage. Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory. Ensure jobs have required programs, prints, and materials for completion. Compile pre-production packets and produce reports based on findings and performance of production. Manage deadlines based on project expectations. Expedite production as necessary to meet customer deadlines. Inform the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules. Scan images. Ability to collaborate with cross-department staff, including Operations, Quality, and Technical Services. Involvement in filing and file management of virtual locations. Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the division and/or corporate management team. Required Skill and Experience High attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365. Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing organization preferred. Ability to read blueprints a plus. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently along with the ability to think strategically and creatively. Education Requirements A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent such as a GED, is required. Bachelor’s or Associates Degree is highly preferred. Technical school and/or practical experience is highly preferred. Ability to maintain coordinated manual dexterity with mental and visual attentiveness for sustained periods of time.
