Overview
As a Planning Tech working in the Warehousing department, you will be expected to provide technical assistance to warehousing and manufacturing personnel in researching material, creating shipping documents, tracking the status of material in-process, managing internal BIW systems/workflows, determining material availability, and ordering material as needed. Depending on specific assignments, job will consist of varying levels of office, shop floor, and onboard work.
Location and assignment will be in the Portland Read Street Warehouse supporting the Planning Yard organization.
Responsibilities
High school diploma/GED required.
Three years’ experience in planning, manufacturing and/or design with a strong background in material control and inventory storage practices preferred; and/or a college degree in a technical, business or management related field.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other technical documents required.
Competent usage of common PC-based systems (Microsoft Office, etc.) required.
Strong knowledge of BIW work management systems (MACPAC, FLOC, WLOC, PYII, MRS etc.) preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Satisfactory work history (discipline/attendance).
Must meet all requirements of the physical task analysis for Material Planner in manufacturing environment.
