Description:
AKG is hiring a Team Lead – Material Planning to manage and develop a team of material planners in our Mebane, NC facility. In this critical role, you’ll lead daily planning operations, improve material flow, and support cross-functional coordination. Ideal candidates have experience in supply chain or purchasing, strong leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and support a team of material planners to achieve performance goals. Oversee daily material planning operations, including managing workflows and addressing issues. Monitor ERP (SAP) data for exception messages, purchase requisitions, and delivery statuses. Collaborate with production, logistics, procurement, and customer service to align on material availability and schedules. Participate in daily production meetings as the planning team representative. Analyze demand changes (order drops, cancellations, inventory shifts) and adjust planning accordingly. Provide weekly material status reports and risk updates to the Director of Supply Chain. Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning processes.
Requirements:
Qualifications 5+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or purchasing. Strong proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems. Proven leadership experience, including performance management. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Experience in manufacturing or production environments (preferred).
