Job Responsibilities:

Manage existing outside operations, issue Shop Orders and Purchase Orders as required by MRP or Kanban Utilize Sourcing process on local spend not covered by Commodity Manager Purchasing card: Consolidate purchases on P-card to fewer suppliers and create leverage. Maintain transaction log and reconcile statements, ensure internal control. Perform all P-card transactions for Sourcing. Issue purchase orders and track deliveries for material and services required for plant and office operations. Analyze requisitions and specifications to determine required quantities and delivery dates and communicates technical and logistical requirements to vendors. Resolve problems and discrepancies with quality, delivery dates, quantity, and invoicing of purchased commodities. Assist Commodity Managers in the monitoring and maintenance of material requirements. Review Kanban/ MRP reports for assigned items and plan manufacturing activities and purchases to satisfy production requirements. Provide Promise Date Information for future production. Maintain Planning Data for assigned items. Create, distribute and maintain Shop Orders to direct daily manufacturing activities. Work closely with Production to determine priorities, overtime requirements, and capacity issues. Coordinate production and inventory movement with other facilities to ensure smooth material flow. Communicate with other departments (i.e., procurement, engineering) to identify and help resolve problems. Schedule and arrange for completion of work outside the normal flow: e.g. special paint, plating, and ATO items. Participate in and use the Quality Improvement Process to improve work processes. Identify and implement inventory reduction opportunities to support annual turns goals Participate in monthly company-wide inventory meetings. Participate in weekly operations meetings and establish or modify production plan as necessary to address specific customer or performance issues. Develop and/or improve scheduling and capacity planning tools/processes to support on-time delivery requirements. Perform monthly Kanban audits. Measure supplier performance and work with suppliers to improve delivery and quality performance. Identify and implement improvement plans to support facility and departmental goals. Perform any related duties as determined by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree. 2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing, Material Control, Kanban/MRP systems or Related Fields. 3. Familiarity with APICS concepts and methods. 4. Strong analytical problem-solving skills. 5. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. 6. Good computer skills, to include proficiency in Excel. Why Victaulic?
