Materials Planner-Direct Hire Opportunity!! The Bradley Group Lexington, NC 27292
Job Summary:
The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production schedules and customer demand. This role focuses on planning, ordering, and coordinating materials flow, while minimizing shortages and delays.
Key Attributes:
Extensive experience in Scheduling AND Planning Must have monitored and maintained optimal inventory levels Experience implementing inventory control procedures Prior collaboration with supplier to ensure timely delivery Experience in developing Contingency plans for supply disruptions Experience utilizing ERP Systems like SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics Experience aligning material availability with production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and manage material requirements to support production and customer orders Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and usage to ensure optimal stock Generate and maintain accurate material plans using MRP (JDE system) Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Production to resolve shortages Prioritize and escalate critical parts, rush orders, and vendor delivery issues Issue requisitions for special materials and subcontracted parts Coordinate material shipments between plants and follow up on open shortages Review and adjust material plans weekly based on changes in demand or capacity Support cycle counting efforts and resolve part discrepancies Provide updates on material availability, order status, and risk mitigation plans
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2+ years of materials planning experience in manufacturing Strong knowledge of MRP systems (JDE preferred) and Excel Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Must be detail-oriented and able to work cross-functionally Occasional travel to other facilities or vendors may be required

$72,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
