Company DescriptionWe are currently hiring 1st Shift Outbound Coordinator for our NEW Gastonia, NC, distribution center. This position will begin at our Charlotte distribution center, located at 10137 Horton Rd, and is estimated to transition to our new permanent home in Gastonia in August 2025. Hours for 1st Shift are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am
- 4:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime pay.

Job DescriptionThis multipurpose role will coordinate the inbound and outbound scheduling of freight to and from the distribution center. This role is responsible for enabling an efficient day-to-day transportation operation by building and coordinating all weekly shipments, tracking courier activity, gathering information, providing absentee coverage, and facilitating communication. From an inbound perspective, they will have the additional responsibility of scheduling inbound containers, flatbed check-in, as well as some administrative front office functions relative to assisting human resources. Principle ResponsibilitiesBuild and plan weekly customer shipments (load planning) that maximize cube/weight goals Develop strong carrier relationshipsAssign carriers to weekly shipments based on budget/rate lane parametersRoute, schedule, and prioritize weekly shipments based on carrier transit times and warehouse workloadTrack and trace shipments to ensure on-time deliveriesPlan and schedule appointments for weekly MAT truck shipments (private fleet) based on budget parameters of cost utilization and driver hoursAssist with scheduling of repairs and ensuring that all licenses, insurance records and registration renewals are currentUpdate and maintain current DOT records of service of MAT drivers Coordinate and plan intercompany transfers in a cost efficient timely mannerReview routing guides and ensure compliance with all customer requirementsMonitor freight rates on all zones and work with Director of Transportation to negotiate and/or reduce freight ratesAssist with obtaining new carriers if/when neededAid in monthly review of carrier performanceHelp determine invoice discrepancies with carriersFront office reception, administration and support for the distribution centerAssist the distribution center with payroll function and processing new hire packets.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D., college degree preferredA basic knowledge of load planning with a large-scale ERP or TMS platformBasic knowledge of DOT regulations (hours of service)Basic knowledge and understanding of trip planning (geography)Proficient using all Microsoft Office productsWork history of prioritizing and communicating work streams in a fast-paced logistical environmentBilingual is a plusAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
