Job Title:

Production Planner Duties and Tasks:

Select production path for manufacturing parts based on their manufacturing drawings Work with in-house manufacturing and/or outside vendors to find the best manufacturing path Evaluate bids and purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity and specification requirements. Estimate expedited lead times for upcoming projects based on anticipated project scope and current production volume Coordinate with engineering regarding design adjustments to expedite component sourcing where possible Process order acknowledgements, maintain due dates, update purchase order pricing and communicate changes on a daily basis; expediting orders when necessary. Daily follow up with suppliers to gain delivery commitments on open purchase orders. Monitor and analyze vendor performance to ensure an on time supply chain. Reconcile supplier invoicing; investigate and resolve issues. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 – 5 years of production planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Able to read and understand specs and drawings to properly source parts. Negotiating and planning through written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. Well organized, multi tasking ability, detail-oriented and thorough. Have a knowledge of sourcing, material planning and inventory management. Proficiency in MES/PLM systems (PSI Penta/Agile preferred) Proficiency in MS-Office applications, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
