Job Description
EMS Logistics Technician 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Nashville, NC General Statement of Duties Performs technical work in support of logistics within Nash County EMS. This position assist the EMS Logistics Coordinator to ensure the availability and readiness of EMS vehicles, medical supplies, equipment and facilities. Essential Duties and Tasks An employee in this class works under the supervision of the EMS Logistics Coordinator and is responsible for assisting with routine stocking, inventory management, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, and logistical support for EMS operations. The position requires attention to detail, independent decision making within established procedures and strong communication with EMS crews, supervisors and vendors. Work is performed in accordance to departmental and county guidelines, medical supply regulations, DEA regulations and operational standards. Performance is evaluated through observation, reports, accuracy and feedback from field staff and supervisors.

Knowledges, Skills and Abilities Basic understanding of emergency medical services (EMS) operations, including equipment and supply requirements for ambulance and field operations. Familiarity with inventory management principles, including stock rotation, tracking, and procurement processes. Knowledgeofmedicalequipment,suchascardiacmonitors,stretchers,andoxygen delivery systems, including their basic maintenance requirements. Understanding of safety and infection control protocols, including proper handling and disposal of bio hazardous materials. Familiaritywithlocal,state,andfederalregulationsrelatedtoEMSsupplies,equipment,andvehicle maintenance. Basicknowledgeofvehiclemaintenanceproceduresforemergencyvehicles,includingambulancesand support vehicles. Awareness of county-specific policies and procedures related to logistics and EMS operations. Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced EMS environment. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite(e.g., Excel, Word)for reporting and data entry. EffectivecommunicationskillstocoordinatewithEMSpersonnel,vendors,andtheEMSLogistics Coordinator. Desirable Education and Experience Required for this position: High School Diploma or GED, a valid North Carolina driver’s license and a North Carolina EMT-Basic credential. Preferred experience in EMS, warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management.
