Job Summary:
The Data Entry Clerk supports the Military & Family Readiness Center’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP) by accurately managing records, scheduling workshops, handling front-desk responsibilities, and assisting with general administrative tasks. This role is vital to ensuring smooth operations and a positive client experience for service members transitioning out of active duty.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry and Record Management:
Accurately input and maintain TAP-related data in the AFFIRST and TAP systems Enter and track data for forms including: DD Forms 2648, 2648-1, 2958 Individual Transition Plans Update client checklist in milConnect after Pre-Separation Briefing Provide monthly reports by the 5th business day Complete all data entry within 2 business days of receipt
Administrative and Clerical Support:
Serve as the first point of contact for the Military & Family Readiness Center Assist with front desk duties , including answering phones, greeting visitors, and scheduling appointments Create and update TAP workshops in AFFIRST and track attendance Maintain office records and manage supplies as the primary Record Custodian Draft, edit, and review memos, correspondence, and forms Develop presentations, training aids, and visual materials Provide basic computer and software troubleshooting Review incoming directives/publications, identify errors, and suggest corrections
Hours & Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch break) No work on federal holidays or “Family Days” Absences must be pre-approved; hours may be adjusted with advance approval
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
At least 1 year of data entry experience, or 48 accredited college semester hours, or A combination of education and relevant experience
Technical Skills:
Proficient in
Microsoft Office Suite:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Ability to operate database systems (AFFIRST, TAP ACCESS) Basic knowledge of Excel macros and record management
Preferred Background:
Experience working in a military environment , Air Force preferred Familiarity with Air Force terminology and protocol
Other Requirements:
Strong customer service and front office experience Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to pass a background check (NACI) Reliable transportation Professional business attire required Must gain full competency within 30 days of onboarding.

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 per week
