Buyer (On-site) Position Available In Albany, New York

Description Objectives and Key Outcomes:

Tactical Purchasing and ERP Management

• Process and maintain a high volume of purchase orders within the ERP system
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers for tactical purchases
• Manage PO deliveries, backorders, and receipts in accordance with supply chain goals
• Order production and MRO materials based on requisitions and usage data Supplier and Inventory Management
• Maintain supplier relationships and support service and quality tracking
• Handle non-conforming material disposition
• Maintain inventory levels and reorder points aligned with company goals
• Assist with tactical RFQs and pricing evaluations in coordination with the supply chain team Support and Compliance Activities
• Assist Accounts Payable with purchase order and payment issues
• Support ISO documentation and compliance with policies and procedures
• Maintain procurement records aligned with ISO and audit requirements
• Provide reporting to support operational efficiency and supply chain KPIs Team Collaboration and Cross-Training
• Cross-train with Inventory Control and provide backup as needed
• Support Supply Chain projects to improve safety, quality, service, and efficiency
• Assist in onboarding and training Purchasing Assistants

• BS or BA degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• 2+ years of purchasing experience using an ERP system
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments Preferred Qualifications
• CPM or APICS certification
• 1+ years of experience in construction or related operations environment Working Conditions
• This position is based in an office environment with regular site and vendor visit requirements
