Job Description
What you will do regularly:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts and available resources.
Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials for production.
Monitor inventory levels and adjust production plans to optimize stock levels while minimizing waste.
Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement in manufacturing efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance departments to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met.
Facilitate communication between production staff and other departments to resolve any scheduling conflicts or production issues.
Manage production planning software to enhance overall scheduling processes and reporting capabilities.
Foster positive relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders. Provide clear communication and constructive feedback to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
Promote safety practices and ensure that materials and processes comply with safety standards. Prioritize safety in all aspects of the role, including inspections and interactions with coworkers.
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years relevant experience as a Production Planner or other related work in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and analytically.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects effectively.
Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Independence, resourcefulness, and teamwork.
Ability to work under pressure and manage crises.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.).Work in a manufacturing setting with varying temperatures.
Bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing stairs required. Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
