Talent Software Services is insearch of a Vendor Manager III for a contract position inRochester, NY. The opportunity will be six months with a strongchance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary:
The VendorManager is responsible for managing vendor portfolios and vendorrelationships for assigned business units. This role acts as atrusted advisor to the business unit and leads sourcing, selection,negotiations, contracting, and governance activities throughproactive collaborative engagement. The Vendor Manager focuses ondelivering improved vendor performance, competitive costs, balancedrisk, enhanced vendor alignment, on-time execution, improvedbusiness partner alignment and satisfaction.
PrimaryResponsibilities/Accountabilities:
Performs monthly reviews withbusiness unit regarding vendor current activity and future plansand requirements for new vendor activity; share industry vendorinsight on cost drivers, negotiation levers, competitors, andtrends.¬ Facilitates upfront engagement and initial planning withbusiness units for ongoing renewals and new agreements. Reviewvendor portfolio annually with business units covering overallvendor activity volumes, financials, dates, plans, issues, risks,opportunities and trending. Review priority vendors annually withbusiness units covering vendor account contacts, financials,agreements list, vendor performance, strategic and tacticaldirection of vendor, issues, and risk as well as a view of currentand planned vendor activities and trending. Directs life-cycleactivities for unit vendor portfolio agreements, includingrenewals, amendments, and new contracts to drive quality, on-time,competitive costs, contract execution; identify key issues andrequired corrective actions while facilitating and escalating asneeded. Lead vendor escalations and contractual disputeresolutions. Leads, structures, and guides business units on majorvendor sourcing, selection, negotiations, and contracting plan inpartnership with internal stakeholders (Business Units, Legal,Finance, Security, EPMO, Sourcing, and Purchasing, etc.);facilitates management review and approval of scope, timing, costs,and sourcing approach; oversee overall plan execution per schedule.
Lead sourcing and selection activities as planned (RFx or directnegotiations with Industry Advisement, as applicable). Leadscommercial negotiations focused on vendor product and serviceobligations and competitive pricing by leveraging industry pricingand advisement; formally tracks and reports negotiation results.
Facilitates Legal, Finance, Executive Management, and Purchasingon-time review and approvals; identify key on-time execution issuesand required corrective actions while facilitating and escalatingas needed. Directs formal governance framework to drive improvementfor quality, delivery and support, flexibility and ease, cost andfinancials, risks and compliances, strategic partnership alignmentand innovation for select vendors. Conduct regular governanceperformance sessions for select vendors with the internal LTHC teamand jointly with the vendor that includes review of scorecardresults and vendor performance against contractual obligations.
Facilitate the identification of any vendor performance gaps andthe development of required vendor action plans to resolve. Monitorand report on vendor gap closure plans. Facilitate corporatescorecard participation and review process per policy. Owns allaspects of the vendor relationship for multiple vendors to ensurevendor performance is meeting contractual obligations and businesspartner expectations. Lead vendor formal escalations and resolutionof disputes; resolves contractual and pricing issues with supplierexecutive leadership. Create and maintain a priority vendorssummary covering vendor contacts, financials, agreements, vendorperformance, strategic and tactical direction of vendor, issues,and risk as well as a view of current and planned vendor activitiesand trending. In partnership with business unit executives, leadthe development and execution of cost model optimization strategiesincluding alternative sourcing and vendor rationalization. Providesrequired vendor management support for Corporate Enterprisepriority projects. Provides required vendor management support forbusiness unit ongoing operational activities and projects. Supportoptimization of Vendor Management framework, process, data, system,reporting, and analytics. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance,IT, Supply Chain Management or related field plus 7-10 years ofexperience with top tier Enterprise vendors in the areas ofsourcing, negotiating, contracting, and vendor governance. In lieuof a degree, fifteen (10-15) years’ experience in Business,Finance, IT, Supply Chain Management or related field, 7 years ofwhich working with top tier Enterprise vendors in the areas ofsourcing, negotiating, contracting, and vendor governance.
Demonstrated experience driving and leading negotiations forcomplex agreements with top tier Enterprise vendors. Strong,persuasive, and effective communication with a demonstrated abilityto build, influence, and execute in all facets of relationshipbuilding, sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and governingvendors. Project leadership experience that involves management ofprojects from inception to completion. Ability to secure alignmentand commitment with partners and/or stakeholders, ensuringdeadlines are met, while communicating risks and necessaryadjustments in a timely manner. Ability to manage multiple projectssimultaneously. Ability to think strategically and create, develop,and drive robust operational action plans. Ability to perform workwith minimal oversight, including exercising considerabledecision-making skills in determining objectives and approaches.
Ability to function as lead on cross-functional teams, possiblydirecting the work of others. Skills in data analysis, strategicthinking, accuracy, attention to detail, and Microsoft Officeprograms. Experience executing strategic competitive bids andnegotiations with a track record of delivering cost efficienciesand value across a diverse portfolio of enterprise sourcingactivities. Ability to manage complex competitive bid processes andmajor negotiations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to workprolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation andworking on a computer. Ability to travel across the Health Planservice region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.
