DESCRIPTION
Under minimal supervision and in accordance with Cummins Delegation of Authority Policy, plans and establishes production schedules to meet customer demand. Develops production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity, and new business opportunities. Works to align and optimize raw material (RM) stocking strategies with Material Planners, Work In Process (WIP) with Operations, and Finished Goods (FG) stocking strategies with Materials and Customer Service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Reports any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard.
Complies with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations. Engages in HSE training. Quality Follows applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures. Performs quality checks on master data (bill-of-material, work center & capabilities, etc.) taking action to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
Works with Quality to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.
Delivery Supports the creation of a capable (realistic and aligned) daily, weekly, or monthly production schedule for designated products or lines.
Manages change to the production schedule inside the time fence (emergency and trading zones) obtaining required pre-approval. Understands risks (downtime, material shortage, etc.) and minimizes impact on the production schedule.
Analyzes data to identify problematic areas (bottlenecks, routings, kitting, Kan ban, etc.) and suggests improvements. Takes ownership and accountability for the delivery of a production schedule that supports end Customer needs. Demonstrates the target level of proficiency in core competencies.
Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals. Teamwork Communicates effectively within the assigned team and with all support teams.
Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements and career goals.
Drives accountability with cross-functional team members in Logistics and Operations to report on Schedule Attainment.
Participates in improvement (quality, safety, process, material flow, etc.) projects.

Materials Planning System Utilization - Uses the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis; occasionally refers to adhoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc.
in performing problem solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations.
Part Change Control Management
- Evaluates and implements engineering change request (obsolescence, supersessions, new part release, etc.) to meet customer delivery requirements while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Plan for Every Part (PFEP) - Uses PFEP in planning, designing, and management of systems and processes within a facility to ensure delivery of right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place, which in turn guarantees smooth operations; applies PFEP principles on the end to end supply chain with particular attention to the relationships between master data management, materials planning parameters, engineered material flows, transport management, and warehouse management.
Detailed Capacity Planning
- Converts and translates the Master Production Schedule into detailed resource requirements resulting in optimized internal capacity utilization and identified constraints; negotiates changes to the schedule or available resources when demand exceeds demonstrated or installed capacity with a focus on meeting Available-to-Promise (ATP) dates; considers different options such as overtime, adding a shift or headcount, etc.

Master Supply Scheduling
- Establishes and maintains a valid Master Production Schedule for a family of products, which meets customer’s expectations and requirements while maximizing operational efficiency; validates procurement scheduling, production scheduling, and replenishment planning are aligned to manufacturing and assembly assets for conversion.
Materials KPI Management - Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to expectations of the organization to determine next steps to drive improvement; assesses gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables; interprets KPIs to understand end-customer impact; strategically balances trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others.
Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP)
- Converts the Demand Plan and Master Supply Plan into critical resource (labor, machine, and materials) requirements resulting in negotiations and/or changes to the plan or available resources to balance supply and demand; focuses on longer term resource planning, not detailed.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
EXPERIENCE
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in an equivalent field such as materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control. 5-7 years of relevant work experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
