Position Overview:
As the Site Supply Chain Leader , you will be responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain management for the Hauppauge manufacturing facility. This includes leadership over procurement, planning, logistics, supplier development, inventory control, and performance metrics. Reporting directly to the Site Leader , with a dotted-line relationship to the Division Supply Chain Management team, you will ensure operational excellence in support of strategic growth objectives, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership Lead all procurement and material management activities, including order placement, price negotiation, supplier certification, and compliance with government procurement regulations. Serve as a change agent and visionary leader to foster a culture of continuous improvement, lean operations, and data-driven decision-making. Supplier Development & Materials Planning Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, supplier reduction, and sourcing strategies. Conduct domestic and international supplier visits (approx. 10-15% travel), with quarterly supplier development initiatives. Drive lean supply chain strategies using tools such as Kanban, pull systems , and intensity measurement . Champion cost control strategies including purchase price variance , inflation management , and obsolescence reduction . Procurement, Inventory & Logistics Ensure continuous flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods to meet production schedules and customer demands. Lead inventory optimization efforts, targeting improvements in days of inventory , cycle times , and cash flow management . Oversee and improve planning processes, including
MRP/MRPII
, production scheduling , and shop floor controls . Coordinate import/export activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Team Leadership & Collaboration Provide direct leadership to cross-functional teams in procurement, logistics, planning, and supply chain analytics. Mentor, train, and develop a high-performance team culture that aligns with corporate goals and supports talent advancement. Actively participate in site leadership meetings and support company-wide initiatives and standards. Systems & Performance Management Maintain high standards of data accuracy , system integrity , and MRP optimization . Drive division-wide materials metrics and standards of performance. Support internal and external audits related to inventory, procurement, and compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Materials Management (required). 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in global supply chain management within a manufacturing/assembly environment (electronics or aerospace preferred). In-depth knowledge of supply chain practices, including lean manufacturing , Kanban , JIT , inventory optimization , and materials requirement planning . Strong understanding of import/export regulations , supplier management, and strategic sourcing. Experience managing complex BOMs and working in high-mix, low-volume production settings. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems;
APICS/CPM
certification preferred. Certifications (Preferred):
