Job Description
Supply Chain Planner 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Swiftwater, PA 18370 Job Overview The Material Planning is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and ordering of materials to support Swiftwater production plans using MRP or re-order point methods in SAP. This position serves as the direct point of contact for area focus factory teams and works with them to identify needed materials, uncover potential material shortages, and assist in determining solutions to prevent production schedule delays. Considering the inventory investment and storage constraints, the role manages their respective inventory to optimize availability and safety stock levels while minimizing risk of stock out, obsolescence, and expiration.
Responsibilities:
Manages inventory to optimize material availability and safety stock while minimizing stockouts, obsolescence, and expiration, considering cost and storage constraints. Collaborates with factory and business teams to track raw material consumption, requirements, and project changes to prevent shortages. Processes Material Delivery Orders (MDOs) timely and handles obsolete or rejected materials. Resolves invoicing issues within electronic systems. Plans, coordinates, and orders materials to support production, R D, and project activities. Works with logistics and vendors to resolve delivery discrepancies, damage, and coordinate returns. Partners with quality and logistics teams to prioritize material releases for production. Participates in critical materials management and supports efforts to reduce risks from single-source suppliers. Develops and manages supplier relationships by sharing forecasts and understanding supplier processes. Assists with inventory and departmental metrics analysis, including turnover, obsolescence, aging, and safety stock levels. Performs miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Business Logistics/Supply Chain or Technical/Engineering/Science field with minimum of 2 yrs. relevant professional experience. APICS Certification in Inventory Management (CPIM) or Supply Chain (CSCP), preferred. Strong understanding of MRP/ERP planning concepts. SAP experience preferred. Excellent communication skills with all levels in a company. Excellent computer skills with Client Office software, including Excel, Word, etc. Must be able to manage and analyze large amounts of data using Excel. Ability to manage complex vendor relationships
