Transportation Supervisor 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars North Charleston, SC 29405 ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Transportation Supervisor to join our vehicle sustainment team in Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently; crucial for supporting international export transactions from the initial order placement to the final completion, acting as the liaison among all parties involved to ensure a smooth processing of shipments. Ensure compliance with customs, export, and applicable foreign trade/importation laws, as well as federal transport regulations, preparing export declarations and various customs documentation; responsible for obtaining export certificates from various government agencies to ensure compliance with each shipment, as well as adhering to customs, export, and applicable foreign trade/importation laws. Process dangerous goods freight according to DOT and IATA regulations, ACE filings, and checking freight to ensure it complies with TSA security regulations and that dangerous goods freight is properly packaged/labeled. Oversee the efforts of less senior logistics staff and are responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job; provides guidance or direction to senior staff logistician and supply clerks. Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations; formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. Collaborate with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and service providers such as trucking companies and container loading facilities to execute bookings efficiently and ensure timely transactions; negotiate rates and space with the airlines, steam ship lines and truckers to obtain competitive rates when applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
8+ years of qualified experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (OR) 12+ years of qualified logistical experience and an associate degree in a related field (OR) 14+ years of qualified experience. Experience in inventory and requisition supplies and maintaining stock of supplies and equipment. Experience in recording, maintaining and initiating work order documentation for acquisition of component items from vendors. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance. Experience packing, shipping, receiving, transportation of parts, items and equipment; warehouse and containerized storage management; experience in operating material and handling equipment. Experience with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in HAZMAT, USMCA, CAFTA, and other International Trade agreements and Certificate of Origin documentation. Familiarity with military or commercial logistics supply system as well as automated and manual supply systems and equipment serviceability standards and criteria. Knowledge of Federal shipping and logistic regulations. HAZMAT certified for declaring and transporting Dangerous Goods.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and have a current/active Secret clearance.
