Reporting directly to the Logistics Operations Manager, the Transportation Planner will work in the Centralized Transportation Control center and is primarily responsible for planning and scheduling transportation for specified Sonoco plants. What you’ll be doing: Be actively involved in resolving service issues Plan &tender shipments via TMS to department policy/procedure. Monitor TMS transmissions to carriers, and carriers to TMS Ensure shipments are being fully optimized through TMS planning Assessing and correcting orders in which failed to plan through TMS auto planning Track & Trace shipments through expected pickup and delivery, proactive communication with tracking to internal stakeholders Ensure carriers are meeting necessary requirements regarding information flow via EDI Be able to manage multiple tasks at one time. Schedule truckload shipments with carriers, plants suppliers and customers Provide OTM system support including but not limited to: User training, User access, Issue monitoring/escalation Monitoring and maintaining entry of all assessorial charges into the TMS for visibility Support Coordinators in managing carrier performance to ensure it is at or above designated KPI’s Proactively address issues or business gaps and escalate as needed to drive resolution This position is located in our headquarters, Hartsville, SC. We’d love to hear from you if: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, SC, Finance, or related field 1 – 3 years Previous experience within transportation industry or logistics experience required Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with Microsoft suite highly preferred Experience with OTM strongly preferred
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $53,440 to $60,120.
