We have expanded multiple times over the past decade to accommodate our continued growth and now we’re looking for a Material Coordinator to join our Tech Center team.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position reports to the Tech Center Production Supervisor and is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments to maximize production efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and review planned production in ERP systems to confirm inventory of parts and lead times Interact with the Production Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leaders to schedule and prioritize production Review orders for accuracy and pull all needed parts and materials Performs quality checks on parts and orders to ensure internal customers receive proper inputs to their process Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments based on established priorities, and compile and maintain manual/computerized records Monitor work order progress and anticipate material needs in advance of shortages Identifies material and part shortages to inform Team Leads of status Track Kanban parts at the work order level and communicate to proper departments Adhere to all safety regulations and requirements Manage any BOM issues or deviations at the production floor level and coordinate changes with engineering and cost accounting departments Communicate closely with work center leads to assist expediters/material handlers with part introduction Communicate priority levels to other team members under team lead’s direction Assist with material handling of moving parts in/out when needed or available May arrange for repair and assembly of material or parts Responsible for accurate layout of component parts and documentation using engineered construction/shop drawings Receive, track, stock and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment Perform preventative and regular maintenance work on equipment and related tools Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to all job assignments Perform tasks within proprietary applications in ERP and associated systems (order parts and expedite as needed, create PO’s for outsource operations, etc.) Provide support to Planning and Finance teams regarding production flow and completion Register, create, and complete remedial actions, track NCRs and update actions as needed in accordance with production guidelines Act as primary backup for Team Leader as needed Positive participation in meetings and continuous improvement initiatives Other responsibilities as business needs dictate.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years hands-on experience with production operations Ability to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks Experience with LEAN manufacturing processes preferred Possess a professional, safe, and cooperative workplace demeanor Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Must work well with others Ability to read and work from blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), etc. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Strong communication and respectful interpersonal skills both written and verbal Demonstrate ability to perform effectively within a team environment Some understanding of machining and welding techniques Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of ERP systems, POs, BOMs, and other production-related documentation/information Ability to operate material handling equipment

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

May move and lift parts up to 50-75 lbs. Move between various departments to identify needed parts and materials Enter, read, and interpret data from various systems
