Lugoff, SC Purpose of Position :
The role involves performing packaging, loading, unloading, material handling, and related record-keeping tasks to support the safe, efficient, cost-effective, and timely receipt of incoming goods, as well as the shipments of products to meet customer requirements within the distribution team.
Requirements :
Education :
High School Diploma, or equivalent with demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages. Must achieve required hours of on-the-job training/peer training and achieve company benchmarks on physical skill tests on equipment used and written process knowledge test(s) after completion of training.
Experience :
One to two years of experience in manufacturing or shipping and receiving. Basic computer input knowledge/ experience and barcoding system knowledge. Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize written instructions, facility documentation process, and customer specifications. Ability to communicate effectively in a workgroup/team environment concerning all job requirements, functions, and duties. Must be able to utilize and safely operate hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, knives, work scissors, dikes, razors), nail guns, and torches. Must have the ability to become certified / licensed as a forklift operator.
Primary Duties :
Ensures a clean and safe work environment, through the use of 6S and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Perform inspection and packaging of raw materials and reels, loading and unloading of trucks, rewinding of cables, etc. Performs cycle counts and physical inventory counts on a scheduled basis and maintains records to ensure that all held inventory is accurate. Prepare documentation related to shipments Receive incoming shipments, pull work orders for manufacturing, and deliver internal packages. Consistently must meet Division safety and quality standards. May handle hazardous materials/waste under an environmental/safety system. Required to adhere to all Division Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulations in effect now and or in the future. :
Physical Characteristics and Working Conditions :
Heat, cold, humidity, and rain exposure working often in an outside environment Must always wear safety shoes and safety glasses Lifting (up to 100 Ibs.) Reaching and Stooping (up to 50 lbs.)
