Job Description

Logistics Management Specialist 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 284 Mawsons Way, Newberry, SC 29108 Position Summary Ensures the on-time delivery of cost competitive products with the highest quality. Management of receiving, storing, loading, and transporting finished goods/products in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Plan/Execute warehouse operations to prepare for On-Time Delivery of cost competitive products with the highest quality of transportation. Oversee finished goods warehouse and transportation operations by managing RFQ, Contract, KPI, and Cost to enhance long-term success for corporate/stakeholders. Role and Responsibilities 1. Truck Dispatch and Allocation.

  • Communicate and confirm with transportation service providers to:
  • Fulfill truck capacities as required.
  • To ship supply for the week of SOP confirmation (2 weeks in advance).
  • To ensure all trucks are allocated to support production/loading operations.
  • Ensure transportation capacities are fulfilled to support:
  • Production.
  • Inventory accuracy of container yard.
  • Inspection of containers to confirm high quality delivery.
  • Supply to customers per their requirements. 2. On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Check all:
  • SOP confirmed volumes’.
  • Requested Delivery Dates (RDD).
  • Communication to service providers about each week’s OTD.
  • Make sure dispatches are done properly to ensure OTD. 3. In-Transit Management (Track & Trace)
  • Responsible for managing all shipments’.
  • Provide advanced visibility for customers of all shipments.
  • Efficiently support customer’s operation plan. 4. Direct Shipment Management
  • Ensure SEHA supplies 60% to direct customers such as Lowe’s, Best Buy, Costco, Aaron’s, etc.
  • Save money by supplying directly to customers.
  • Communicate with Production Planning, SEA Supply Chain, and the HQ Global Operation Center to verify that the direct shipment orders are received and confirmed. 5. IOD/POD/Payment Management
  • Continuously communicate with partners on completion of delivery.
  • Information of Delivery (IOD) is required within 24 hours of actual deliveries via email/phone/fax/etc.
  • Receive and manage Proof of Delivery (POD) for all shipments (Signed document by Consignee).
  • Manage weekly freight invoices to ensure all partners are paid in a timely manner at the right cost. 6. Inventory and Consumable Goods Management
  • Ensure all finished goods are produced, received, stored, and loaded properly, to prevent a surplus/shortage in advance.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of FIFO operations.
  • Create and maintain records of accidents/damages/loss of goods.
  • Ensure all consumable goods’ PSI are managed (airbags, wraps, etc.).
  • Ensure On-Time Factory Out and FIFO.
  • Prevent surpluses or shortages to fulfill customers’ delivery requirements. 7. Warehouse Management
  • Provide a safe working environment for employees by managing PPE use, Pro-3M, equipment, loading procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and HR issues.
  • Create manpower work schedule based on production volume.
  • Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical and customer support issues under minimal supervision. Escalate only the most complex issues to appropriate staff. 8. Container Yard Management
  • Ensure that all trucks/containers received by SEHA are managed per CS Group’s standard of containers’ condition expectation.
  • Ensure the following:
  • All received goods are in managed locations.
  • Name of truckers.
  • Gate-in time for efficient operation from Dock to Yard, Yard to Dock. 9. Maintenance Management
  • Regularly schedule maintenance of assets/rent/leased equipment such as clamp lifts, batteries and docks to avoid operation issues. 10. RFP/RFQ and Contract Management
  • Plan, execute, follow-up, and complete Request for Pricing (RFP)/Quotation as needed (quarterly, semi-annually, annually) with warehouse/transportation service providers to drive on-time delivery with the highest quality, the most competitive logistics cost, and to build contractual long-term relationships with partners.
  • To manage, review with two 3PLs contracts on Warehousing and Transportation consistently to drive on-time delivery with the highest quality at the most competitive logistics cost.

If requirement from SEHA is not fulfilled, responsible for

RFQ, RFP

of new 3PLs. 11. KPI Management

  • Ensure subordinates are managing on-time shipping of right quantities.
  • Ensure subordinates are managing on-time delivery of right quantities.
  • Ensure most competitive logistics costs are used for majority of shipments. 12. Master Data Management
  • Factory Logistics Planning (FLP) Data Management for all customers.
  • Customer Information System (CIS) Data Management for all customers.
  • Settlement System for Logistics Cost (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually, etc.). 13. Trend/Cost Management
  • Manage abnormal costs’ risk points (Zero Per Diems, Detention, etc.).
  • Understand and adapt to most updated supply chain market’s trend.
  • To innovatively and efficiently manage procedures, processes, and purchases.
  • Cost Saving activities, which logistics part has performed previously, include changing vendors for hiring agency for warehouse (Mark-up 36% 32%), changing vendors for consumables (Airbags $7/CNTR $3/CNTR), changing transportation mode for exports ($1.

7/set saving), operating outbound warehouse’s 2nd shift with half manpower. 14. All other duties as assigned #

Skills and Qualifications 1.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field required. 2.

Experience:

No experience required (1 year experience in SCM operation or manufacturing experience preferred) 3.

Knowledge:

Thorough understanding of the Logistics Process, Inventory Management, Transportation, and Logistics required. 4.

Skills:

[Required]: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast paced and goal orientated environment. High proficiency in Excel.
